Inyoni Umlilo Studio

Growing capability, not dependence in Barberton

Founded by artist Retha in Barberton, Cre8tz integrates pottery, textile work, and practical craft education into a living regional hub where skill precedes commerce.

The Studio Trajectory

From solitary bench to community arts hub

What began as Inyoni Umlilo Studio—a private pottery and painting workspace—has grown into a deliberate gathering place for regional makers. We believe that true creative independence requires mastering honest materials, from local clays and raw beeswax to unbleached linen.

Our model pairs instruction with an economic guarantee: we teach traditional crafts to community members, inspect the finished pieces against rigorous quality standards, and buy the best work back directly for our retail shelves.

Create · Uplift · Renew

Create as daily discipline, uplift through honest trade, and renew our reliance on durable materials.

Nothing leaves our workbenches until it is built to endure.
